The editing process

This is a screenshot of the editing process to ensure that my front cover image focused and sharp. I edited the background out of the image and made sure that it was sharp edges so I could simply copy the image over to the original background and measure the two images up together therefore showing the technique of mashing two images together to make the image sharp and focused.

Questionnaire results

Out of the 30 people I handed my questionnaire out to all of the features that they could chose at least one person had chosen at least one of the features possible, therefore I decided that the three most popular features would be the main story on the front cover however the rest of the features would still make an appearance on the front cover, however they would be across a bar along the top of the front cover.

Features questionnaire

This is the questionnaire I made to determine which bands and singers my target audience would most like to see on my front cover and stories throughout my magazine.

Making my front cover- 3

I decided that I would stick with the same colour scheme throughout as my target audience found it appropriate for my front cover. Therefore I thought that the features down each side of the magazine would correlate with the colour scheme. I tried to use bands that were from this genre and made a questionnaire and asked my target audience what bands they would like to see on the front cover.

I once again handed out the questionnaire to 30 different ages and genders within my target audience and gained back the results and feedback to improve or keep my front cover the same. There was only one person out of the people that filled in my questionnaire that didn't find the colours appropriate to use and the rest of my target audience found all four of the colours appropriate.

Colour theme questionnaire

This was the questionnaire I created for the colours I thought would be appropriate to use for my front cover.

Making my front cover- 2

I decided that I would made a questionnaire for each stage of the making of my front cover, therefore for this questionnaire I would find out if my target audience feel that the colours used throughout the front cover.

Questionnaire results

My results clearly state that my target audience find that the plain and simple purple title most appropriate for the front cover. I handed my questionnaire out to 30 different ages within my target audience and genders and found that 27 out of the 30 people I asked preferred the second masthead, and only 3 people found the first title most appropriate. I also received a comment on the bottom of one of the questionnaires saying how the colours were appropriate for the style of the magazine.

This therefore determines that I would use the second font for my masthead as my target audience find it more suitable for my magazine.

Masthead questionnaire

Making my front cover- 1

I was torn between which masthead to use for my front cover so I decided that I would create a questionnaire for my target audience and let them decided which masthead they would find most appropriate for the front cover.

Editors letter

I decided that I would write my editors letter before beginning the making of my magazine so I had everything prepared to just add in on the contents page.

This is the inspiration I took form UNCUT magazine for my editors letter in my contents page.

My Editor's letter

Darcey Reed is one of them characters that you instantly fall in love with. Her star quality is out of this world, and I have been a fan of hers since she came on the music scene in 2011. I still remember her first single, "Rock My Heart", it brought tears to my eyes. To hear of such a young and current artist bringing back the rock element to music is outstanding. And to recently hear of her 2014 world wide tour coming together is brilliant. I think that with great encouragement and mentoring Darcey will soon turn out to be an even biggest worldwide star that what she already is. I was absolutely gobsmacked when I found her album had went number one in the charts in the space of an hour with her first ever album, I find this mind blowing, I am hoping to see much more from this phenomenal superstar. I am delighted to hear of her recent announcement of her world wide tour, with 25 different countries to tour around I think that this is a great opportunity for the young superstar. Starting in her home town Newcastle and darting from Newcastle to Hong Kong and then back around the world to America, this sure is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the born to be singing sensation. Once again a superstar has been found in a small local town, this is becoming abit of a regular, hopefully more and more acts are being found this way.
